Games Residency 2024/25

• I am a Bona Fide Queenslander according to Screen Queensland’s definition.
• I am not employed by a state or government screen agency.
• I do not have any projects in default with Screen Queensland.
• I can commit to working in the SQ hub, Level 2, 130 Commercial Rd
  Teneriffe QLD 4005 at least 3 full days a week for the first 39 weeks of the residency.
• I have skills and/or training which allows me to contribute to developing a digital game.
• I am only submitting one application per round.
• I am not currently employed full-time by a games company.
• I am eligible for Self-Employment Assistance and will participate in Small Business Coaching.
• I am eligible for Self-Employment Allowance (currently on Government Income Support) or I can self-support my full participation in the residency for the full duration.
• I am available to participate in all shortlisting and onboarding processes.

Applicants should read the Terms of Trade prior to commencing an application.

The following is required:

• I am at least 18 years of age;  
• I am not be prohibited by law from working in Australia;  
• I am not an overseas visitor on a working holiday visa or an overseas student studying in Australia; 
• I am not an undischarged bankrupt; 
• I intend to develop a business in the Games industry, and understand that the business idea has to be assessed as viable and eligible by Birdifi Bridge;  
• I will prepare a business plan and clashflow forecast and have it approved by Birdifi Bridge (you will be supported to develop a business plan as part of the onboarding process);  
• I intend to operate my business for the required hours each week (as identified in your Business Plan, this should be a primary activity and not a 'side-hustle) for the duration of your participation in Small Business Coaching;
• I have not have received Small Business Coaching in the past 12 months; and 
• I agree to enter into a Small Business Coaching Agreement in the event that I am approved for the residency

To be able to access Self-Employment Allowance, participants must currently be receiving income support payments from Services Australia. You are still able to participate in Small Business Coaching if you are not receiving Government income support, but you will not be able to receive income support payments throughout your residency.
