These terms and conditions (T&Cs) apply to all Program applicants. Please read these T&Cs carefully before applying to the Program.

1. The Program. The Program seeks to advance diversity in the Australian screen industry by expanding access and opportunities for emerging Australian writers who identify as women or non-binary by providing an opportunity to pitch and receive structured industry feedback on their work. An announcement, application process and assessment will take place to select the Program participants.

2. Application Period. The application period for the Program will open on 4 August 2026 and end on 18 August 2026 (Closing Date).

3. Eligibility Criteria. Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for the Program (Eligibility Criteria): (i) be 18 years of age or older at the time of application; (ii) be an Australian resident; (iii) identify as a woman or non-binary; (iv) hold at least one (1) reportable writer credit and no more than three (3) reportable writer credits on commercially released or formal film/series productions longer than ten (10 ) minutes (verification of credit(s) may be required); and (v) complete all required fields in the Program application form provided. Full-time students are not eligible for the Program.

4. Application Process. To apply for the Program, applicants must visit the website of the relevant Screen Agency in the state/territory where they reside and locate the Program application page. Complete and submit the Program application form provided. Applications must include the submission of an original work created and originated by the applicant, over which the applicant retains all right, title and interest as further set out in Section 8 (Submitted Work). Applicants must submit a brief professional biography (up to 150 words), highlighting their experience, aspirations and screen industry credits together with the following:
●a working title for the Submitted Work;
●a logline for their Submitted Work (up to 30 words);
●a one (1) paragraph (up to 200 words) description of the intended audience for the Submitted Work;
●the genre of the Submitted Work;
●an explanation of the cultural relevance and the applicant’s personal connection to the Submitted Work;
●a one (1) page synopsis of the narrative for the Submitted Work; and
●a screenwriting sample for the Submitted Work (total sample must be five (5) pages).

One (1) application is permitted per person and group applications will not be accepted.

Applications must be submitted by the Closing Date. Netflix and its Program partners are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible or misdirected applications, which will not be eligible for the Program. Any incomplete or ineligible applications and applications submitted after the Closing Date will not be considered. Submission of a valid and complete application that meets the Eligibility Criteria shall constitute the applicant’s deemed acceptance of these T&Cs.

5. Assessment and Selection Criteria. Eligible applications will be assessed by an independent panel of experts appointed and managed by the AWG in consultation with Netflix (Assessor Panel). The Assessor Panel will review all eligible applications received from applicants in each state and territory and shortlist up to five (5) applications per state or territory, assessed against the following selection criteria (Selection Criteria):
●the writing demonstrates a clear and distinct voice;
●the central premise is clear and compelling;
●there is potential for the narrative to sustain a series or feature format;
●the applicant demonstrates an understanding of expectations of the chosen genre (via tone, pacing, key story beats and characters);
●the work is demonstrably and authentically Australian via either tone, character or setting;
●the applicant clearly identifies their intended audience;
●there is an awareness of where this project sits within the current screen marketplace; and
●the project advances diversity via on-screen representation of characters, themes or narrative or via key creatives.

Netflix will review the Assessor Panel’s shortlist and select one (1) Program participant per state or territory (Participant), for a total of eight (8) Participants for the Program. Netflix’s decision in relation to any or all aspects of the Program is at its complete discretion and is final and binding. Netflix and its partners have the non-exclusive right to copy, use and distribute applications solely for the purpose of administering the Program, including evaluating and reviewing the applications submitted as part of the Program. Due to the expected volume of applications, individual feedback will not be provided to applicants.

6. Notification. Participants will be notified by phone and/or email on 28 September 2026. If Netflix is unable to reach a Participant by 17:00 (AEST) on 30 September 2026 to confirm their participation in the Program, or if a Participant decides not to participate in the Program, Netflix reserves the right to select another Participant in their place. All Participants must be confirmed by 2 October 2026. Upon acceptance and prior to the Pitch Day, each Participant will be required to provide a high-resolution headshot (at least 1200 x 1600 pixels) to Netflix or its relevant agency. By applying to the Program, applicants acknowledge and agree that their name, details (as provided in their application) and image/likeness (e.g. headshot) may be made available publicly, including on the internet, in the event they are a Participant.

7. Program Inclusions.
(a) Participants will be invited to attend a pitch day with Netflix executives (Netflix Executives), which may include Netflix’s Head of Content and Manager Content, in Sydney on 6 October 2026 (Pitch Day). To the extent permitted by law, Netflix shall not be responsible if any Participant cannot be awarded the opportunity to participate in a Pitch Day including, without limitation, due to acts of God, war, terrorism or any other events that are beyond Netflix’s reasonable control.
(b) Depending on their place of residence, Participants will be provided with the following Program inclusions, to be arranged by or on behalf of Netflix, to facilitate their attendance at the Pitch Day: (i) return economy flights or train tickets to Sydney, and (ii) up to two (2) nights’ accommodation at a hotel selected by Netflix (number of nights pending travel location). Participants are responsible for all other costs and travel arrangements required to attend the Pitch Day, including meals, transportation, incidentals and insurance.
(c) At the Pitch Day, Participants will be given the exclusive opportunity to present their Submitted Work directly to Netflix Executives. The Netflix Executives will provide direct in-room feedback to the Participants on their Submitted Work. Being selected as a Participant does not guarantee that Netflix (or any Netflix affiliate) will develop their Submitted Work, guarantee funding or ongoing support of any kind.
(d) Following the Pitch Day, Participants may refine the concept for their Submitted Work and resubmit this to Netflix by 6 November 2026 in accordance with instructions to be provided by Netflix. Netflix will provide final written feedback (one (1) paragraph) to each Participant that submits a refined concept for their Submitted Word by 1 December 2026 (Final Feedback Date).

8. Intellectual Property Rights. Each applicant warrants and represents to Netflix that their Submitted Work, including any writing samples provided as part of their application, is the original work of the relevant applicant and is not subject to any third party rights, claims or encumbrances. All rights to a Submitted Work shall remain with the applicant and participation in the Program does not transfer any title or rights in and to a Submitted Work to Netflix, the AWG and/or any Screen Agency. Applicants agree and acknowledge that no contract or obligation of any kind, other than those arising pursuant to the express terms set out in these T&Cs is assumed by Netflix (or any Netflix affiliate) or may be implied against Netflix (or any Netflix affiliate) by reason of Netflix's review of any Submitted Work and/or any discussions in connection therewith.

9 . Independently Developed Material. Applicants agree and acknowledge that Netflix (or its relevant affiliate) may have already and may in the future receive or independently develop materials similar to a Submitted Work. Netflix (and its relevant affiliates) has the unrestricted right to use these similar materials and, to the extent permitted by law, applicants will have no right or recourse against Netflix (or any of its affiliates) for use of these independently developed materials.

10 . Release. To the extent permitted by law, Program applicants (including Participants) release and hold harmless Netflix, its affiliates, the AWG and the Screen Agencies from and against any and all claims, expenses and liability including, but not limited to, negligence and damages of any kind to persons and property, infringement of trade mark, copyright or other intellectual property rights, arising out of or relating to their application to and/or participation in the Program.

11 . Cancellation/Modification. Netflix reserves the right at all times, in its sole discretion and to the maximum extent permitted by law, to cancel, terminate, modify or extend the Program.

12 . Personal Data. Netflix and its Program partners will collect and use applicant personal information for the purpose of administering the Program, including assessing applications. Netflix may also use applicant data to contact applicants about future projects and opportunities. Netflix will handle your information in accordance with applicable laws and Netflix's privacy statement, which you can find at https://help.netflix.com/legal/talentinterestprivacy.

13 . Governing Law. These T&Cs are governed by the laws of the State of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute arising in connection with the Program or these T&Cs will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
